Flooding threat over several regions on Monday
Thunderstorms will blanket most of the nation on Monday, with several spots that could see heavy rainfall with the potential of flash flooding.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of the risk of potential flash flooding in 20 states or more.
In the West and Southwest potential heavy rain of flash flooding over southeastern California, southeastern Nevada, southern Utah, Arizona, southern and south-central Colorado, and northern and north-central New Mexico.
In the Midwest and Ohio Valley, potential flash flooding over southeastern Nebraska, northeastern Kansas, southern Iowa, northern and central Missouri, and central and southern Illinois.
In the mid-South and South, potential flash flooding over eastern and southern Kentucky, eastern and southern West Virginia, much of Tennessee, western Virginia, western North Carolina, western South Carolina, northern Georgia, and northeastern Alabama.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch for the following areas on Monday: California deserts; southern Nevada; southern, and southeastern Utah; northern, western, central, and southern Arizona; northern, central, and east-central New Mexico; northwestern Missouri; central and east-central Illinois, southeastern and central Indiana.
Severe weather for Mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Monday,
A lengthy stretch of potential severe weather will extend from Virginia in the mid-Atlantic along the East Coast to Maine in the Northeast. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Level 2 severe weather risk for northern and north-western Virginia; Maryland; Delaware; southeastern and eastern Pennsylvania; New Jersey; southern New York; Connecticut; Rhode Island; Massachusetts; southeastern Vermont southern and southeastern New Hampshire; southwestern, southern, central and eastern Maine. The main risk will be strong, potentially damaging winds, with a low risk of tornadoes.
Evacuations as Oak Fire in California continues to grow, uncontained
The Oak Fire in California near Yosemite National Park has now expanded to encompass 25 square miles and is 0% contained. The fire has led to the evacuation of over 3,000 residents in Mariposa County, the Weather Channel reported.

Heat advisory for portions of Washington, Oregon, California, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
